Roy Munday

As a mature student, I completed a Fine Art degree at Liverpool John Moores University.
I was also awarded the John Moores Drawing Prize, which enabled me to spend a further year at the university developing my practice.
After graduating, I established a studio in Liverpool, where, over several years, I focused primarily on painting the city, particularly its iconic waterfront. During this period, I also began teaching art—a role that I continue to enjoy today.
As well as a practicing artist, I’ve also created one of the largest art groups in the north west of England, the Sefton Art Group, where I’m able to teach others who also have an interest in taking up art. Many of these once beginners now enjoy taking part in art, including taking part in our regular exhibitions.
