How do I join?



As an Artist

As an artist you can upload for artwork for display on your personal art gallery and in our main artlist showcase. If you're a member of an associated club or art group, you can also add your work to any exhibitions organised by the groups you're a member of.

As a Group

Do you run an art class, club or group? Joining allows you to create and manage exhibitions which are displayed on our home page and in the exhibition gallery. When your members join, they can add artwork to your exhibitions. There is no charge for club registration.

As an Organiser

If you're an event or exhibition organiser we'd love to hear from you. We would be happy to include details of your event or exhibition in our news feed and local exhibition pages.

There is no charge for event promotion.

Join as an artist or group leader

An annual site fee of £18, on a rolling 12-month cycle starting from the date you add your first artwork — not this sign-up date. Every year is a full year, so there's no partial-year charge.
A one-off fee of £2 applies per artwork added. There is no commission on sales.
All fees are invoiced on an occasional basis (not per transaction) — the statement doubles as your invoice, and includes full payment details at that time.
No charge is made when you sign up, and none accrues until you add your first artwork — you'll be asked to reconfirm these fees at that point, which is what actually starts billing.
Payment is by bank transfer, against the statement/invoice you're sent.
You can cancel at any time; this simply stops future annual renewals. Fees already invoiced are not refunded.
Unpaid fees may result in your removal from the site.
No VAT is charged on these fees.

Is the site free?

Artistic Minds is free to explore and there is no charge for setting up an artist or group organiser account. Once a user adds artwork, charges are incurred. This is made clear the first time an artwork is submitted and a reminder is present on the add artwork form.

What are the costs?

Creating an account is free. Charging begins as soon as you add your first artwork.

Our current fees are:
£18 per artist per year
£2 per artwork added - this is a one-off charge when the artwork is submitted and not a recurring charge.

At present there is no charge for creating an exhibition or and no additional charge for including artwork in an exhibition.

How do I pay?

We will send you a periodic statement, usually once a month if you have incurred any charges in that period.

The statement will detail all transactions in the past 12-months, including the ones you have already paid (which will be marked as such). New transactions will be tallied to show your outstanding balance.

The statement acts as your invoice and details of how to pay are included.

What if I miss a payment?

Our payment terms are 14 days from the statement generation date.
Late payment can result in your account being suspended or deleted.

We do allow a reasonable grace period so late payment does not immediately suspend your account. Suspended accounts are restored on receipt of payment due. We reserve the right to delete accounts and all associated images after three months non-payment.

Do you offer refunds?

Unless there is a significant technical issue which prevents us from offering the service for a prolonged period, no refunds can be made.

How many artworks can I upload?

There is no hard limit to the number of artworks you can upload (subject to the usual provision of reasonable use).

Can I cancel?

You can cancel at any time but no refunds will be given for any charged already incurred, invoiced or otherwise.

If you do cancel, your account will be archived and your artwork removed from the public gallery. It will remain in any exhibitions you were part of unless you request account deletion.

Archived accounts can be restored on payment of the annual fee,

Deleted accounts cannot be restored - they are gone for good.

How long are artworks retained?

You can display your art for as long as you want. Artwork will only be removed at your request or if your account is deleted for non-payment or at your request.

Do you accept AI or digital artworks?

We do not accept AI generated images. We appreciate that some artists use AI to plan out an artwork. This acceptable so long as the actually artwork you submitted was created by hand, by you.

If you have created a digital image, this is acceptable so long as it was created by hand, by you.

If we reasonably believe an artwork was AI generated, we reserve the right to delete it without refund. In such case, the site operator's decision is final.

If you are unsure whether or not an artwork is acceptable, we advise you to contact us before unloading it.

Do you accept 'adult' artworks?

This is a fine art website and reasonable nudity and adult content will be accepted. Pornography and other inappropriate images would not.

The definitions of pornography and other inappropriate images is subjective and the site operator's decision is final. No refunds will be given for images that are rejected. They will simply be deleted.

If you are unsure whether or not an artwork is acceptable, we advise you to contact us before unloading it. If in doubt, play safe.

Potentially illegal material such as seemingly naked or questionable depictions of children will be rejected and reported to the police without informing the artist.
